In 2019, Rolex is presenting the Oyster Perpetual Yacht- Master 42, bringing a 42 mm diameter to the range for the first time and heralding the arrival of 18 ct white gold on a Yacht-Master model. Equipped with new-generation calibre 3235, also introduced on the Yacht Master 40 model the same year, the Yacht-Master 42 is fitted with an Oysterflex bracelet.
Also new in 2019, the Oysterflex bracelet equipping the yacht-Master 42 and the Yacht-Master 40 in 18 ct Everose gold is fitted for the first time with the Rolex Glidelock extension system.
Developed and patented by Rolex, this ingenious toothed panel
mechanism located under the clasp cover allows fine adjustment
of the bracelet length without the use of tools. Thanks to the Rolex Glidelock, the length of the Oysterflex bracelet can be easily adjusted by some 15 mm in increments of approximately 2.5 mm.
Distinctively chic, sporty and technical, the Yacht-Master is the perfect watch for an active lifestyle and more than ever the ideal timepiece for sailing enthusiasts.
On the Yacht-Master 42, the bidirectional rotatable bezel is fitted with a 60-minute graduated Cerachrom bezel insert in matt black ceramic. Its raised graduations and numerals are first moulded into the ceramic and then polished. The first 15 minutes are graduated minute-by-minute to allow time intervals to be read with great precision. The bezel can also be turned with ease thanks to its knurled edge, which offers excellent grip.
SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER CERTIFICATION
Like all Rolex watches, each model in the Yacht-Master range is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification, an exclusive designation that testifies that every watch leaving the brand’s workshops has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, which exceed watchmaking norms and standards. The Superlative Chronometer status is symbolized by the green seal that comes with every Rolex watch and is coupled with an international five-year guarantee.
